Protex (TM) conforming to EN 11612 is a modified acrylic (modacrylic) fibre developed for workwear and industrial applications. As such it has all the attributes of an acrylic fibre: softness, lightness and good 'handle' as well as the benefit of flame retardancy. As the flame retardancy is built into the molecular structure of the fibre it is inherent and therefore the effectiveness will not be reduced by repeated washing or wear.
Protex (TM) is ideal for blending with other materials and in the workwear environment is particularly well matched with cotton to provide durable hardwearing and comfortable workwear that is inherently flame resistant.
